Don’t isolate Sri Lanka

New Colombo Archbishop Rt. Rev Dr. Malcom Ranjith yesterday requested the international community not to isolate the country as such action would aggravate the sufferings of the people.

New Archbishop brought honour and prestige to Sri Lanka

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday said the new Archbishop of Colombo Rev. Dr. Malcolm Ranjith occupies a special place among the Archbishops in Sri Lanka who brought great honour and prestige to the country. Especially the service he rendered to build the image of the country will always be remembered with gratitude. Occupying two prestigious positions in the Holy See he still continues with this mission both on behalf of the Catholic faith as well the country as a whole.

KP exposes LTTE friends

Vital information relating to persons and organizations here and abroad who had provided assistance to the LTTE in an extensive scale during its hey day have been revealed by LTTE leader Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP who is now in Sri Lanka's custody, said Foreign Employment and Welfare Minister and Government Defence spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella yesterday.

Sri Lanka and Vietnam entered into an agreement to expand trade and political relationships between the two countries and the first session was signed in 2003.
