This year Akbar Pharmaceuticals has come forward to sponsor the
Inter-Schools Under 18 Rugby 10 A-side Tournament conducted by Western
Province Schools Rugby Football Association (WPSRFA); which will be
staged at the Royal Sports Complex on August 8 and 9.
The handing over of the Akbar Pharmaceuticals sponsorship cheque
officially took place at the Akbar Brothers Ltd., Auditorium Darley
Road, Colombo 10 on August 4.
24 teams from leading schools from Western Province will lock horns
for supremacy for the Akbar Pharmaceuticals' Champions Trophy and these
teams will go for Cup, Plate, Bowl, Shield and Saucer, in group
A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H categories.
The WPSRFA is happy of getting a sponsorship package from 'Akbar
Pharmaceuticals' through the Director Akbar Pharmaceuticals' Asgi
Akbarally.
Susantha Mendis (Secretary WPSRFA) speaking at the press conference
revealed that the tournament played on the first day, the top teams will
go for Cup, Plate, Bowl & Shield and the 3rd will go for the Saucer and
on first day 32 matches and on the second day 25 matches will be worked
off which is the largest and with 80% of the Western Province Schools
participating a high standard can be expected.
