Full Muslim support for President - Governor

Muslims in the country have never been traitors nor do they extend even a speck of support to any terrorist group which left no stone unturned to split the country. Since the time of Sinhalese kings, Muslims have been patriotic and loyal to the country and its leaders.

This trend of Muslims will never change even for thousand years, said Western Province Governor Al Haj Asseyed Alavi Mowlana. The governor was speaking as the chief guest at the ceremonial opening of “Hadji Halwan hall” built at a cost of Rs. 2,000,000 at Malwana Al Mahmood Vidyalaya in Ulahitiwala, he said, Sri Lanka Muslims play a vital role in the development of the country.

The President who brought an end to thirty years old war against terrorists has now started development war. It is a good sign that Muslims unlike before, now extend their fullest support to the President.

The President has won the heart of Arab countries as of Sri Lanka Muslims many Arab leaders have come foreward and pledged millions of rupees assistance to Sri Lanka. This clearly indicates the unbias policy and pragmatic leadership of the President, he said.

The governor remarked, that UNP has no proper plan to develop the country and now it is hankering to come to power by hook or by crook all its attempts to come to power will be futile.

The UNP regime can be said to have prolonged the ethnic conflict with half hearted attempt to solve it. Though UNP boasts that it opened the open economy with the aim at bringing prosperity to the country, it is now seen that so-called prosperity only served to fill the pockets and enrich their cronies, the governor observed.
