Bus turns turtle:

Female killed

One female was killed and 30 were injured when a bus returning after pilgrimage to Kataragama suddenly turned turtle in Beragahamula in Galagedara area yesterday afternoon. The injured were admitted to Galagedara and Kandy hospitals.

The bus was carrying a group of pilgrims from Negombo, Vaikkal area and were returning to their homes after a five days of pilgrimage to Kataragama, sources added. According to initial investigations the accident has occurred due to deficiency in the brake system of the bus.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist has also killed after his motorbike collided with Kandy-Kurunegala intercity bus in Akkarawatta, Galagedara area.

Galagedara Police is conducting further investigations.
