Vaccination programs for children in welfare camps

The mothers lost almost everything while they were being held as hostages by the LTTE and while fleeing from their clutches.

They lost their health, wealth, children, family members and almost everything. But they did not abandoned the health progress reports of their children under the age of five.

Some health progress reports were in a very bad condition, some teared into pieces and some are not clear because of dirt, mud and dust.

But almost all the mothers had kept the health progress reports and birth certificates of their children safe. It shows how much mothers love their children and always want a better future for them.

According to the Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry spokesman the health progress reports of the children under the age of five helped them to carry out vaccination program.

The three day program commenced on Monday in welfare camps ended yesterday.

The health progress reports of the children helped health workers and doctors to decide which vaccines should be given to them and which vaccines should not be given.
