Two new Vice Presidents for Construction Chamber
The Council of the Chamber of Construction Industry Sri Lanka (CCI)
elected Nawaz Rajabdeen and Manilal Fernando as Vice Presidents of the
Chamber, at its recent meeting held at the Chamber Secretariat.
They are joined by Nimal Lokuge, a long-standing council member of
the Chamber, who was elected to the post of Vice President by the
Council. All appointees bring with them a wealth of experience and
expertise from the construction sector and are set to play a pivotal
role in broadening the already diverse scope of activities of the CCI,
which is the accredited representative of the domestic construction
industry, to fast-track industry development and to meet the
unprecedented challenges that will be faced by the industry in light of
the reconstruction efforts in the North and the East, not to mention the
global economic recession and financial crisis.
The Chamber will hold a special meeting on August 14 at the Galadari
Hotel in Colombo to announce the appointments to its membership and
stakeholders of the industry.
