New road from Aranayake to Mawanella

Highways and Road Development Minister T.B. Ekanayake has allocated a sum of Rs. 300 million to restore the 13 kilometre highway from Aranayake to Mawanella in Kegalle district.

In addition to Aranayake-Mawanella Road, a six kilometre road to Hemmathagama to Aranayake will also be restored.

This road is being renovated and repaired fully along with a new bridge over Maha Oya enabling vehicles of all kinds to reach Hemmathagama through Aranayake, a short distance of 6 kilometres. This new bridge will be a great convenience for all people and vehicles, travelling to Gampola via Aranayake.

The new bridge will provide easy access for the tourists visiting the panoramic "Asupinu Ella" water falls in the Aranayake area.
