Twenty children injured in collision

At least 20 schoolchildren were injured when their school bus met with an accident in Munneswaram, Chilaw yesterday morning. However, they are out of danger.

Police Spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said a private bus transporting schoolchildren to school collided with a lorry in Munneswaram along the Kurunegala-Chilaw road around 6.55am. The driver of the school bus was admitted to hospital.

The lorry driver was arrested.
