X-tra Lama Tharu finale soon

Daintee Limited which had for years been churning out sweet delights
to the children of Sri Lanka and worldwide will be celebrating 25 years
in the industry. They hope to stage the grand finale of their popular X-tra
Lama Tharu program (season two), a show which spotlights on the kid's
talent for singing, dancing and playing musical instruments.

Curtains will come down of the event at the Ummul Maliha Memorail
hall of Jilan Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Keselwatte, Panadura, on July 26.
The team had previously conducted the island's first children's program
of such nature, Daintee Rasa Pana for 13 years. They also introduced the
'X-tra 40+' singing competition which is especially designed to bring
the singing skills of the older generation to light.
Around 11226 applications from kids between eight to 16 poured in for
X-tra Lama Tharu season two.
The hidden talents of many kids, some who have emerged from the
remote areas of the island, had come to light at the event which is
being telecast every Sunday at 5 p.m. on TNL.
Out of the applicants, 68 kids were given the opportunity to display
their skills on the mini screen.
Their capabilities were judged and appreciated in three rounds. Out
of them 16 finalists made it to 'The Most Talented' category adjudged by
a jury while some emerged in 'The Most Popular' section through SMS
votes.
Five exceptionally talented kids will make it to the grand final
which will include sectors like the 'Most Talented singer', 'Most
Talented Musician' and 'Most Talented Dancer' elected by the jury while
the 'Most Popular Singer' and 'Most Popular Dancer' will be chosen by
the viewers through SMS votes.
Speaking at a press briefing the Sales Promotion Manager of Daintee
Limited Kapila Weerasinghe stated that the winners will receive awards
along with a number of valuable gifts.

Tulin Jayaratne, Lakshman Wijesekere, Nirmala Ranatunga, Ranjini
Perera, Visha Manohari de Silva , each who had done uncountable service
to their field, comprise the judging panel. Weerasinghe along with with
Navodya Patali, a student of Girls' High school, Mt. Lavinia, will
compere X-tra Lama Tharu.
Visharada Manoj Peries is the music director of the program while
Jinasiri Waduge will handle the production on behalf of TNL. The
cameraman is Chandrapala Alwis.
The program is produced and directed by TNL chairman Shan
Wickramasinghe and co-ordinated by Daintee Limited Sales Manager
Nishantha Mendis.
