Thissanayagam case:
Judgement on August 31

Colombo High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara yesterday fixed the
Judgement of the Thissanayagam case for August 31.
The Attorney General Department filed indictment against Jeyaprakasan
Sittappalam Thissa-nayagam with three counts for conspiring to publish
the North Eastern Monthly magazine between June 1, 2006 to June 1, 2007.
The publication was defaming the Government and arousing racism.
According to the indictment he had obtained funds from Non Government
Organizations for publishing the magazine. State Counsel Sudarshana de
Silva appeared for prosecution while Attorney-at-Law Anil Silva appeared
for the defence.
