Re-opening of trading floor of CSE
On the initiation of the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), the
Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has taken steps to re-open the trading
floor to the public on Monday, July 20 after being closed for almost one
year. The re-opening of the trading floor of the CSE is contemplated in
the public interest, a release states.
The Capital Market of Sri Lanka has shown a tremendous progress and
there is investor interest as the market has leaped by over 55% in terms
of growth for the year 2009.
The Colombo Stock Exchange trading floor will consist of several
Broking Firms offering Brokering Services and the public will also be
able to visit the trading floor during trading hours.
It will also provide an educational opportunity for Academics,
University Students and School Children.
Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs and Deputy Minister
of Finance and Planning (Dr.) Sarath Amunugama will grace the occasion
of the ceremonial re-opening of the trading floor of the Colombo Stock
Exchange.
