Survey on tsunami hit children

The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) and the Justice and
Law Reforms Ministry requests all persons who keep tsunami affected
children with or without legal custodianship to present themselves
during the survey which is going to commence on July 14.
More details about the venues, times will be informed through posters
and Grama Niladharis.
This was announced during a joint press briefing held by the NCPA and
the Justice and Law Reforms Ministry.
The persons will be provided with free legal aid to seek legal
custodian of tsunami affected children. All persons should obtain legal
custodian of tsunami affected children using this opportunity and the
persons who fail to do so can be imprisoned for a period of two years.
During the survey free legal aid will be provided to ensure the
tsunami affected children's property rights.
The persons who gain legal custodian of tsunami affected children can
apply for adoption after a period of one year. The survey will be
conducted at a cost of Rs.4 million and it will be commenced on July 14
from Galle.
The survey will take place on July 14, 15 and 16 at Balapitiya,
Hikkaduwa and Ambalangoda. |
