SANASA Development Bank to expand services in North

The SANASA Development Bank will expand its services to the North shortly by opening four new branches.

The General Manager/ CEO Nimal Mamaduwa told Daily News Business that bank officials are visiting IDPs to attend to their financial needs and the bank has deployed a mobile van to open accounts and accept deposits. He said that many people are carrying cash and jewellery with them and the bank is supporting them to protect their valuables.

The new branches will be at Mannar, Jaffna, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi and the Mannar branch will be opened next month. It has a full fledged branch in Vavuniya. Field officers will visit small villages thereafter. The bank is in the process of conducting interviews for new recruitments to fill the vacancies in the new branches. Mamaduwa said that as a development bank it will give priority to support the Government's Uthuru Wasanthaya plan this year.
