Indices down

The indices at the Colombo Stock Exchange declined for the 8th straight day yesterday as retail investors sold out of the market and institutional investor stayed on the sidelines.

The ASPI came down 28 points (-1.2 percent) to close at 2,348 while the MPI came down 35 points (-1.3 percent) to close at 2,633.

Turnover for the day was a low of Rs 166 million. Bulk of the turnover came from Commercial Bank (Turnover of Rs 16 million, share closed down Rs 1.25 to Rs 129.25), Vallibel Power Erathna (Rs 16 million in turnover, share closed up 10 cents to Rs 3.40) and John Keells Holdings (Turnover of Rs 15 million, share closed down Rs 2.75 to close at Rs 129.75) Source: First Guardian
