ODEL rewards best staff

ODEL, felicitated staff at its retail outlets for active contributions to the company’s growth, by conferring Employee of the Year Awards on best performing employees.

The Best Supervisor of the Year and Best Retail Personality of the Year selected from ODEL’s flagship outlet at Alexandra Place and five employees from ODEL’s other outlets adjudged as Best Retail Employees of the Year were honoured at a ceremony recently.

“Motivating and encouraging employees builds their loyalty and enhances their enthusiasm,” said Chief Operating Officer at ODEL Arjuna Samarathunga. “As a good corporate citizen ODEL takes measures to provide employees a great working environment and this awards program is yet another initiative to reward them.”

The Supervisor of the Ladies Casual Department Ms Rani Lokuge was selected as the ‘Retail Supervisor of the Year’ and received a cash prize of Rs. 15,000, a trophy and certificate. The Ladies Select Department Ms. Mangalika Ladduge was adjudged ‘Retail Personality of the Year’ and was awarded an overseas trip, trophy and certificate.

Chamara Jayaruwan of ODEL-Kohuwala, Suresh Fernando of ODEL-Ja-ela, Naleen Yahampath of ODEL-Majestic City, Henricus Anthony of ODEL-Airport outlet and Susantha Abeysinghe of ODEL-Nugegoda were selected ‘Best Retail Employees of the Year.’ Each received a cash prize of Rs.10,000 and a certificate.
