Milton Jayawardena no more

Actor- director and well-known film personality Milton Jayawardena passed away on Sunday at a Colombo Private Hospital.He was 65.

He made his acting debut in Dr.Lester James Peries' Akkara Paha and went on to play prominent roles in films such as Ohoma Hondada.Amethikama, Vishmaya ,Sadahatama Oba Mage and Kasthuri Suvanda.

Films such as Nuwan Renu, Madhuwanthi, Bithu Sithuwam, Suvadena Suvandak, Ayachana and Tharaka also proved his capability as a talented director. He also ventured into teledrama directing.

His remains lie at No. 90 Galle road Dehiwela.Cremation takes place on July 1 at 4.30 at the General Cemetery Borella .Meanwhile the body will be placed at the National Art Gallery from 11 am to 3 pm on July 1 for the public pay their respects. Consultant to National Film Corporation T.M. Sangadasa has requested all artistes to be present.
