The Sri Lanka Immigration and Emigration Service can play a big role
in building Sri Lanka’s image abroad. This has been identified by almost
all sectors.
“Therefore we have decided to open a new branch office at the
Trincomalee Harbour,” Immigration and Emigration Controller General B.
Abeykoon said.
A special Immigration and Emigration team including Controller
Chulananda Perera, Assistant Controller in Charge of Ports Parakrama
Fernando, Deputy Controller Sunil Hettiarachchi and several other senior
and junior officials will visit Trincomalee this week to set up the new
branch office in Trincomalee, the Controller General Abeykoon said.
The Immigration and Emigration Department had earlier opened branches
in Anuradhapura, Kandy, Galle and Matara for the benefit of the public,
the Controller General said.
“The Immigration and Emigration Department will assist the fast
developing Trincomalee area to issue visas for sea and air tourists with
the assistance of the Three Forces, Police and the Regional Division
Secretariat”, he said. |
