We must win war against drugs - FM
Since the war against terrorism won now, we have to win the war
against drugs so that our society would not be destroyed by this menace.
Therefore a special program would be launched with the assistance of
all the police stations in the Kotte electorate to eradicate this evil,
Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said addressing a meeting held at
Obeysekerapura Community Centre to start the anti-dengue campaign in
Kotte.
The Minister said President Mahinda Rajapaksa had understood that
drugs could destroy society especially the youth whose productive
contribution to society will be prevented by this evil habit.
Therefore he would ensure that the Kotte electorate was free from
drugs so that the younger generation would become useful citizens of the
country. The anti-dengue campaign was also very important at this
juncture and all steps to prevent the disease would be taken as a matter
of high priority.
Kotte Municipal Council Mayoress Swarna de Silva, Deputy Mayor Janaka
Ranawaka and SSP Deshabandu Tennekoon and Municipal Council Members also
were present at the meeting. |
