BOI approval for three investors

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka granted investment approval to three companies for investments worth Rs. 171 million. Chairman/Director General Dhammika Perera signed the agreements on behalf of the BOI and presented the BOI Certificate of Registration to the investors.

A Rs. 45 million investment agreement was signed with Superlight Garments Industries (Pvt) Ltd. The project under the Nipayum Sri Lanka 300 Enterprise Program will relocate their manufacturing facility to Gampola from Colombo.

Superlight Garments Industries manufacture garments for the US and European markets.

The venture will generate 250 new employment opportunities and will commence commercial operations in one month.

Chairman of Superlight Garments Industries (Pvt) Ltd Sellamuthu Ravindran, signed the agreement on behalf of the company.

Talisfull Asia Pacific signed an agreement to set up a Regional Operating headquarters Company. The regional operations centre set up in Colombo will manage their supply operations in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Turkey. The company is engaged in the supply of garment accessories.

The venture is an investment of Rs. 57 million that will create 25 new employment opportunities.

A Rs. 69 million investment agreement to set up a venture to manufacture poly packaging for indirect export was signed with J and D Poly Packaging (Pvt) Ltd. The project sponsored by Korean investors will set up their manufacturing plant at Boralesgamuwa. The venture is expected to generate new employment for 100.

Directors Jeong Lee and Ms. Seok Ok Jang signed the agreement on behalf of J and D Poly Packaging (Pvt) Ltd.
