fishermen will be lifted from today on the specific directions of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Senior Presidential Advisor Basil
Rajapaksa MP officially announced this in Karainagar, Jaffna
yesterday.

Attempted assassination of Defence Secretary:
Bomb brought in CARE vehicle
Investigations have revealed that the bomb that
was exploded at the Pittala Junction in Kollupitiya targeting
Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has been brought to Colombo
from Kilinochchi in a vehicle belonging to CARE International, an
INGO, the Kotahena Police informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate
Court yesterday.

Attempt to assassinate President:
Three arrested
Three LTTE suspects who were gathering
information to assassinate the President were arrested by the
Western Province Intelligence Unit. Police spokesman SSP Ranjith
Gunasekera said an LTTE suspect was arrested on June 15 at the
Ayurveda junction, Borella by the police WP Intelligence Unit.
