National program to prevent dengue from spreading

Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva told
Parliament yesterday a national program has been implemented to prevent
dengue from spreading.
The Minister said 10,000 people have been deployed to clean villages
and towns to control the dengue.
He said members of the Civil Defence Committee, Samurdhi and Grama
Niladhari officials and volunteers have contributed to implement dengue
prevention activities.
A systematic and more effective propaganda campaign will be
implemented to make people aware on dengue prevention, the Minister
said.
The Minister was responding to an oral question by JVP MP Ranaweera
Pathirana.
