Mihintale six-year-old's killing:

JMO calls for DNA testing

At the post mortem held on the death of six-year-old Lakshani Gooneratne who was allegedly abducted and killed a few days ago at Netiyagama in Mihintale, Anuradhapura Chief Judicial Medical Officer Dr. Ajith Jayasena ordered that parts of the body be sent to the Government Analyst for DNA testing.

The JMO said the DNA test was necessary to determine whether the child had been abused and then killed by the suspect. The suspect Kiribandage Ratnapala was arrested earlier by Mihintale police following a complaint made by the child's mother, Ihalagama Kankanamlage Wasantha Sriyanee Indunil from Netiyagama.
