Convention Bureau, SriLankan participate:

IMEX Trade Fair timing perfect for Sri Lanka

The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau and SriLankan Airlines jointly participated in the IMEX Trade Fair in Frankfurt last week , which is the largest Meetings industry ( MICE) fair in the world bringing in well over 3,700 hosted buyers with 5,100 visitors and this time, breaking the record of number of countries represented to 157 by the 3500 companies who exhibited at IMEX.

"The timing was perfect," said the General Manager of the Bureau Vipula Wanigasekera. "The buyers who could not believe that Sri Lanka was the first country to eradicate terrorism, sought clarification from our team led by Senior Manager of the Bureau Achini Dandunnage.

Most of the European buyers assured scheduling Sri Lanka for incentive travel from early 2010 by which time the travel advisories will also be lifted. Meanwhile some Incentive business is expected to be diverted to Sri Lanka before end of the year," he said.
