Indian PM urges Pakistan:
Act against terrorists
INDIA: India Tuesday asked Pakistan to act against militants
operating from its soil and indulging in terror acts against India and
reiterated that Islamabad should bring the perpetrators of last
November’s Mumbai terror attacks to justice.
“Pakistan should take all action against those elements indulging in
terrorist acts against India. It should also bring to justice all those
who have acted against Indian interests including those involved in the
Mumbai terror attacks,” Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh told the
Parliament in his address. Claiming that Islamabad should try to make
peace with New Delhi for mutual interest, Singh said, “It is in our
vital interest to try and make peace with Pakistan. But it needs both
hands to clap. “
India has been calling on Pakistan to take action against those
responsible for carrying out the Mumbai attacks on November 26 last
year, which claimed the lives of over 170 people.
India has also condemned the recent release of a suspected mastermind
of Mumbai attacks, Jammat-ud-Dawa chief Hafeez Saeed in Pakistan, saying
this shows the insincerity of Pakistan in tackling terror.
