Ceremonial sitting of SC:

BASL invitation to members

The Bar Association of Sri lanka (BASL) wholeheartedly welcomes the appointment of Justice Asoka de Silva as the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka.

The Bar Association is confident that the Supreme Court under the leadership of Chief Justice Asoka de Silva, will ensure the adherence to the rule of law, the independence of the judiciary and that every citizen of this country will have equal protection of the law and will be treated alike. The Bar Association will continue to do its part in this endeavour, said BASL Secretary Udaya R. de Silva.

The Bar Association extends its best wishes to Chief Justice Asoka de Silva and extends to the Chief Justice its fullest support and co-operation in the discharge of his duties, the BASL Secretary said.

The Bar Association invites its members to attend the Ceremonial Sitting of the Supreme Court, today, June 11 at 10 a.m. to welcome Justice J.A.N. de Silva as the Chief Justice.
