Canadian MP not allowed to enter country

Canadian Liberal Member of Parliament Bob Rae who arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake yesterday morning was not permitted to enter the country, Immigration and Emigration Controller P.B. Abeykoon told the Daily News.

He was detained at the Immigration barrier at the BIA, Abeykoon said. He would be sent back in the next available flight, he said. Rae was involved in pro-LTTE political activities in his home country.
