‘He didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me
watch him do it.’ - Clarence Budington Kelland:
Father’s Day on June 15
Father’s Day is a day honouring fathers, celebrated on various days
in many places around the world. It complements Mother’s Day(May 11),
the celebration honouring mothers.
How do you address your father? Do you call him Father, Daddy,
Thattha, Thaththi, Appachchi or Appa?
However, it is really not necessary to have a separate day to care
for your father. We should honour and respect our father throughout the
year.
As we see in various advertisements and commercials the noble concept
has been distorted and the business people have made this day an
opportunity to sell their products and services. We find five star
hotels offering special budget packages to attract more customers.
Electronic media too dedicate programs allowing their listeners and
viewers wish their fathers. Bye for now.
