Bradby Shield Second Leg on June 13

The Second Leg of the 65th Bradby Shield encounter between Royal College, Colombo and Trinity College, Kandy will be played at the Royal Sports Complex, Reid Avenue on June 13 (Saturday).

The Trinitians who lost the First Leg by 12-22 at Bogambara are expected to come up with a much better display and will go all out to wipe out the 10 point deficit and retain the shield for the second successive year having scored a resounding 58-17 win over Mahanama on Friday with a dazzling display of open rugby with their three quarters Vishwajith Wijesinghe, Kennon Armstrong, Lasantha Samarasekera and Adeeb Hameed giving a superb display.

Royal too scored a convincing 30-3 win over Dharmaraja at Bogambara on Friday after going through several anxious moments in the first half in which they had a narrow 5-3 lead at the breather.

Once again the Reid Avenue school will rely on their forwards Hamza Hassan, Hasthika Bandaranayake, Kalana Amarasinghe, Nikira Senanayake, Shehan Pathirana and Udara de Silva to deliver the goods.

But the biggest problem for the Royalists in the Bradby 'return' will be the lack of a reliable place kicker with both their kickers Mushin Faleel and Shailendra Chandrasekera giving a poor display in all the matches they have played their season.
