Traffic plan for Ranaviru Upahara ceremony
There will be traffic restrictions along many roads in Colombo and
the suburbs from 8 a.m. today on account of the Ranaviru Upahara
Ceremony to be held at the Parliament Grounds, Police Headquarters said
in a press release.
A public procession will begin from Campbell Park, Borella at 1 p.m.
and proceed to Parliament Grounds. There will be a designated area for
parking of buses bringing crowds to Campbell Park.
The traffic plan in Colombo is as follows. All vehicles coming from
Peliyagoda towards Borella through Kelaniya Bridge, Bandaranaike
Roundabout and Urugodawatte should turn right from Ingham junction and
proceed along Saddharma Road, then turn left from Sangaraja Roundabout
and proceed along Panchikawatte Road, Maradana junction, Symonds Road
and Deans Road.
Vehicles coming along Baseline Road, Bullers Road and Kanatte Road
should turn to Kynsey Road and travel to Carey College junction to
Maradana and proceed to Punchi Borella-Maradana junction to get to
Colombo North.
Residents along Baseline Road and the area Kanatte junction to Ingham
Junction and buses and other vehicles with labels will only be allowed
to use the road.
No vehicles will be allowed to use the road from Kotta Road Ayurveda
Junction to Borella junction.
Residents travelling towards Rajagiriya from Borella junction along
Kotta Road and vehicles with labels will only be allowed to use the
road.
Nugegoda Division road plan is follows. Road from Polduwa Junction to
the Ayurveda Roundabout along Parliament Road will be fully closed from
1 p.m.
The road from Pelawatte Junction to Parliament Grounds too will be
fully closed.
