Seminar on Personalized Insurance

An international seminar on Personalized Insurance organized by the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) jointly with the Federation of Affiliation Insurance and Re-Insurance will be held from June 15 and 16 at the Cinnamon Grand.

"The main objective of this event is to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing environment," said Chairman of the Organizing Committee Insurance Association of Sri Lanka, Jagath Alwis.

"This is the first time that they have invited the Sri Lankan market to organize a conference for the region affiliation. We have decided to have the conference mainly based on personalized insurance. In affiliation markets, personalized insurance are becoming more important since now-a-days the lifestyles of people are changing. People are more concerned about individual lifestyle," Alwis said.

The IASL consists of all the insurance companies operating in the market. The Federation of Affiliation Insurance and Re-Insurance which was set up in 1964 held its first conference in Cairo to promote regional cooperation among the Insurance companies and also to develop business within the affiliation region and to develop people and the resources based on the market", he said. "At present the membership is more than 50 countries in the affiliation region and it is for the insurance and re-insurance company's of members including Sri Lanka," he said. Therefore, there is a trend for personalized insurance such as life insurance, health insurance and travel insurance. Considering all these factors we thought this is an ideal theme and also ideal time to discuss and communicate this to the community, he said.

"We are expecting around 350 people to participate in the seminar," he said.
