STF recovers arms, ammo

The Special Task Force while engaging in a search operation at Badamassawa in Kanchikudichcheru area came under terrorist attack on Saturday (16). They retaliated and recovered two bodies along with two T 56 weapons, one LTTE communication equipment set, six ammunition camps, 185 T56 ammunition and dry rations.

In another search operation conducted in a jungle area in the Surawanaadiuttu area, STF personnel record the following items left behind by the LTTE.

One T 56 weapon, one T56 ammunition cap, thirty T56 ammunition, one flat bomb weighing 1.5 kilograms, one remote controller, two 09 watt battery, six feet of detonator code and two bombs.

These items were later handed over to Wellaweli police for further investigation.
