President lauded for eradicating terrorism

UNP chairman Rukman Senanayake yesterday lauded President Mahinda Rajapaksa , Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and the service personnel for eradicating the scourge of terrorism that deterred the country's development for over three decades without giving into any pressures from the outside forces.

"The President undisturbed by pressures exerted by outside forces exercised his mandate to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He said the President has committed to the eradication of terrorism in Sri Lanka. "The President did not hesitate to remove any obstacle and bottlenecks in the way to free the country from terrorism" ' he said. He thanked all those who made sacrifices to achieve this goal.
