Two more LTTE suicide boats, three vehicles found


An LTTE vehicle

The 53 division troops commanded by Major General Kamal Gunerathne during search and clear operations in Karayanmullivaikkal area recovered a 55-ft long LTTE suicide boat, another two more suicide boats, two armour-plated unicorn vehicles and one buffel vehicle on Wednesday evening.

The explosive-laden boats and other three vehicles had been covered with foliage when troops recovered them.

The 55-feet long Tiger suicide boat, laden with 1,500 kg of high explosives was uncovered by 53 Division troops from Karayanmullivaikkal area when troops were moving deeper into the beach side on Wednesday afternoon.
