'South Asia Enterprise Security Summit 2009' on May
18:
'Overview and Way Forward on Network Security' in Sri Lanka'
Sri Lanka has shown immense determination in developing its
infrastructure, maintaining a sustainable economic growth at seven
percent GDP and fuelling its growth in the ICT industry which is one of
the fastest growing revenue generators in the country.
The rate of adoption of IT is still in its nascent stages in Sri
Lanka and has been encouraged by the Government due to the competitive
edge IT provides in business. This demonstrates the path to a growing
market for IT security along with the current economic environment which
has stirred enterprises to manage their expenses diligently and at the
same time not compromise on securing their organization in any way.
The ICT practice of Frost and Sullivan, the global growth partnership
company, in its efforts to address new and continuing threats to
information security as well as respond to the increasing risk of
security breaches and data leakage, identity theft, cyber warfare, and
more, will host a summit titled 'South Asia Enterprise Security Summit
2009' at The Taj Samudra on May 18.
At the summit, a report on "Overview and Way Forward on Network
Security in Sri Lanka" will be released.
The report, besides providing the current market overview, also
covers, demand and competitive analysis and presents the major trends
observed in the region. Increasing awareness about the advantages of IT,
increase in broadband subscribers, increasing online transactions,
expanding PC market and steady prices due to increasing competition is
helping the country creating huge demand for ICT products and services,
and a very large number of networks without proper security solutions
reflects that Sri Lanka is still in its early developmental stage.
All in all, this MindXchange is aimed to convene the best minds in
Information Security under one roof to create an interactive milieu for
exchange of knowledge and ideas.
With ever increasing threats, Frost and Sullivan believes that
organizations will be forced to look at security holistically and Frost
and Sullivans South Asia Enterprise Security Summit 2009 will cover this
topic in detail and provide thought provoking insights into enterprise
security and way forward. Some of the key areas like the Evolving Role
of the Chief Information Security Officer, Enterprise Best Practices in
Security Implementation, Internal Security, Wireless Security and
Managing Security on a Limited Budget would be presented and discussed
at the event.
The keynote would be addressed by Senior Vice President (Strategic
Alliances), Frost and Sullivan, Asia Pacific Aditya Sapru. Other
speakers include, Senior Manager - Systems Engineering, Cisco Systems -
India and SAARC, Arun Shetty, CIO, Hirdaramani Group of Companies,
Samath Fernando, Executive Vice President / Group Chief Information
Officer, John Keells Holdings Limited, Ramesh Shanmuganathan and
Regional Manager, Advanced Technologies, Cisco Systems, India (South and
East) Pravin Srinivasan. |
