Dehiwela YMCA edge out CSE - 60/56

Dehiwela YMCA beat CSE by 60 points to 56 in the first semi-final of the "Battle of the Best" Basketball Tournament played at Amal International Basketball Courts, Colombo 6 yesterday.

Dehiwela YMCA and CSE were tied on 30 points each at half time.

Reshan Ruwanga was the top scorer for the winning team with 16 points while Diluk Fernando obtained 12 points. Suren Fernando (15) points and Dilan Sampath 10 points excelled for CSE.

Old Josephians overcame Ananda basketball team by 46 points to 37 in the second semi-final played at the same venue yesterday.

Old Jospehians led by 26 points to 8 at half time. Jude Perera scored 18 points and Ashen Rodrigo 10 points for the victorious Old Josephians and Kavindu Karunanayake obtained 10 and Irosha Rajapakse 9 points for the Ananda team.

Trackmaster beat HNB

Trackmaster Basketball team beat Hatton National Bank by 54 points to 41 in the Battle of the Best basketball encounter played at Amal International Basketball Courts.

Trackmaster led by 23 points to 17 at half time.

Inoka Sandamali was the top scorer for the winning Trackmaster team with 24 points while Sonali Weerasuriya chipped in with 16 points.

Kumarin de Silva (12) and Umanga de Soyza (11) stood out for the HNB team. Air Force beat Jospehians by 53 points to 30 in their Battle of the Best' match played at the same venue.

Thamali Perera collected 27 points for Air Forces and Malintha Amarasuriya 14, Sanduni Perera scored 12 points and Thewattage Jayani 10 points for the losers.
