Missing

Febin James, a cadet of Merchant Vessel ACX Pearl has been missing since April 14, 2009. He is suspected to have fallen from the ship into the sea somewhere off Galle while his ship was travelling from Colombo to Singapore. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a white overall shirt with the marking ‘Angle Eastern Ship Management’ on the back, safety shoes and helmet. His details are as below:

Height: 180 centimeters

Age: 23 years

Eye colour: Black

Hair colour: Black

Weight: 65kg

Body type: slim

Skin colour: Medium complexion

Languages spoken: English, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil

Identification mark: Scar under the left eyebrow.

The High Commission of India (Tel: 011-2440219 / 2327587) may be informed if anyone has or finds information regarding the whereabouts of the missing person.


Death of Aluthge Wijedasa

Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Highways and Road Development, Aluthge Wijedasa (Sri Lanka Administrative Service) passed away on May 7, 2009.

A public servant with over 40 years experience, he has served as Divisional Secretary of Kantale and Vavuniya as well as in many other Government Departments and Ministries.

He was the father of Additional Secretary to the President, Vimukthi Janadara. Remains are lying at A 4, Manning Town Housing Scheme, Matha Mawatha, Narahenpita. Funeral arrangements will be notified later.
