Golden Key suspects remanded till May 21

The Mount Lavinia Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Harsha Sethunga who is hearing the alleged Golden Key Credit Card fraud, remanded the suspects in the case till May 21.

The Judge refused applications for bail in respect of the suspects including the Chairman of Golden Key Credit Card Company who had been remanded in connection with the alleged Golden Key Credit Card fraud and remanded the suspcts.

The Judge reserved the order in respect of Chairman Lalith Kotelawela for May 21, as his bail application is pending before the Colombo High Court.

Earlier the Judge directed the Prisons Authorities to produce the suspects yesterday in order to extend their remand orders. Deputy Solicitor General Sarath Jayamanna, who led the prosecuting team assisted by Inspector Rohan Misbula of the CID appeared for the Prosecution.

Tight security prevalled in the outer perimeter of the Court premises on the direction of Mount Lavinia Senior SP Hemantha Adikari and assisted by Mount Lavinia SP Lalith C. Gunawardena.

The case will be called again on May 21.
