Container, bus crash kills one, injures eight

A passenger was killed and eight others injured when a container
collided with a bus last morning at 7th mile post, Peliyagoda in the
Kandy- Colombo main road.
Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said the Polonnaruwa bound
Colombo private bus collided with the container in Peliyagoda around
5.00 a.m. "When the bus stopped at Peliyagoda junction, a container
which had come from behind crashed into the bus," he added.
A passenger seated in the rear seat was killed and another eight
passengers were injured. The driver of the container was arrested.
Peliyagoda police are investigating.
