‘Deadly’ wushu contest kills student

A student of D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo died after injuries sustained during a Wushu competition.

Police said Pasindu Hasanka Jayawickrama, 17, was seriously injured when he was hit by his opponent at the event.

He was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

This is the second death reported due to this form of martial art sport in Sri Lanka.
