NKorea blames Japan for failed Nuke talks
N Korea: North Korea has blamed Japan on Tuesday for the unsuccessful
six-party negotiations on denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
An article published by the North Korean Minju Joson daily criticized
statements by the Japanese government spokesman, accusing the Democratic
People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) of withdrawing from those
negotiations.
One of Japan’s objectives is to distract attention from its serious
political crisis and seeking justification to arm itself with nuclear
weapons, the text said.
The negotiations began in 2003, as a Chinese government initiative,
and representatives from China, the United States, Russia, Japan, South
Korea and the DPRK participated.
The Minju Joson recalled that every time a round of talks began, the
Japanese government presented totally irrelevant issues to the
negotiations, hindering them and making strenuous efforts to make them
fail.
It also said that when all sides chose to keep their promises in the
meetings, just Japan refused to do its duties and increased its actions
against the DPRK.
At the same time, Tokyo led the campaign to intercept the satellite
launched to the space by the DPRK, and encouraged the Security Council
to approve a resolution against North Korea, the article said.
This is the reason why the DPRK decided not to participate in the
talks under any circumstance, because they had become a platform to
violate its sovereignty and disarm it unilaterally.
