Australian leadership awards scholarships
Australian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Kathy Klugman on behalf of
the Australian government yesterday announced the opening of
applications for the Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) Scholarships
administered through Australian International Development Agency (AusAID).
AusAID invites applications for ALA Scholarships from exceptionally
qualified and motivated Sri Lankan citizens to study at Masters and
Doctoral levels in Australia in 2010.
The recipients of the Australian Leadership Awards will, in addition
to a full scholarship for tuition and contribution to living expenses,
also have the opportunity to undergo a training program on leadership.
Priority areas of selection are Disease Pandemics, Climate Change,
Security and International Trade. Applicants are encouraged to review
the ALA Scholarships conditions and eligibility criteria before

deadline for submission is June 30, 2009. The ALA program targets
current and future leaders who might be key personnel from universities,
business, media, industry, government and civil society, and are capable
of leading reform, development and governance in developing countries in
the Asia Pacific region.
