Impressive display by Anura and Mithun in Nepal
Richard Dwight
Both, Sri Lanka's professional golfer, Anura Rohana and champion
amateur golfer the 22-year-old, Mithun Perera, acquitted themselves
creditably well to hold the first position with the identical score of
138 on the leaderboard after 2 rounds of the Surya Nepal Masters being
played at the Gokarna Forest Resort, Kathmandu.
Putting up a commanding display Anura Rohana fired a round of 7 under
65 to shoot to the top in the second round having earlier registered 73
in the first to have an aggregate of 138. Mithun Perera with scores of
68 and 70 has a six-under par 138 to tie with Anura's 138.
Shiva Ram Shrestha the local pro a hopeful failed to match his
impressive first round of 68 to slip to 75 in the second to lie seventh
with 143.
Yet another local pro: and star performer Ramesh Nagarkoti also fell
back with a round of five over 77 having scored 69 in the first round to
be at 146.
Shiva Ram still stands a shot at winning the Surya Nepal title as he
is just five off the lead.
