The Ceylon Workers Congress after a high profile meeting held yesterday at Bandarawela has decided to donate the monthly salary of all CWC MPs, Provincial Councilors and members of Local bodies to the Presidents Fund to facilitate the process of providing facilities for the huge influx of civilians arriving in Government controlled areas from the No Fire Zone.

A spokesman for Minister Thondaman told the Daily News that apart from the monthly salary of the CWS MPs and members of Provincial Councils and Local Government bodies the Trade Union leaders and the estate workers have also decided to donate their daily wage for this worthy cause, the spokesman added.
