Dr. S. A. Wickramasinghe an exemplary leader

Late Dr. S. A. Wickramasinghe can be considered as one of the greatest political leaders the country possessed and the present political leaders can learn a lot of lessons from his life and character, said Minister of Home Affairs Chandrasiri Gajadheera.

He was speaking at a ceremony to commemorate the 108th Birth anniversary of late Dr. S.A. Wickrmansinghe held at Hakmana Road, Matara.

Minister Gajadheera said as the founder of the Ceylon Communist Party he was not just a politician but a popular Medical Practitioner and was a farmer who had a very good knowledge about irrigation. That is clear from his book-named 'Idiri-Maga'.

He brought several resolutions to the Parliament regarding 'Nilwala Project' all those were rejected by the governing party those days, if they accepted those motions. 'Nilwala Project' would not fail.
