Another 2,000 civilians rescued
The 58 Division troops engaged in the mission of
rescuing the remaining civilians inside the 'No Fire Zone' captured
Valayamadam rescuing nearly 2,000 civilians yesterday bringing the
total number of civilians rescued by the troops to 111,000 as of
yesterday, Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara told the

Air Force joins humanitarian mission
The Sri Lanka Air Force has turned its transport
fleet and aircraft and helicopters to facilitate the transportation
of all essential items needed for thousands of civilians arriving in
military controlled areas from the 'No Fire Zone' during the past
few days, Air Force Spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara told
the Daily News yesterday.
