Forces will decide Prabhakaran's fate in next few hours

SLFP General Secretary and Agriculture and Agrarian Services Development Minister Maithreepala Sirisena said the fate of LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran who is responsible for killing of thousands of civilians would be decided by the Security Forces within the next few hours.

Addressing a press briefing at the Mahaweli Centre, the Minister said Prabhakaran has sown the seed of hatred, ruthlessness and jealousy among the Sinhala, Muslim and Tamil communities who have co- existed for centuries.

The Minister said that the people's verdict at the last Presidential election has made the country victorious in many ways.

The people who brought President Mahinda Rajapaksa to power, now feel that their decision helped protect the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity and dignity.

The Security Forces and the Government led by President Mahinda Rajapaksa have earned worldwide commendation for eradicating one of the most ruthless terrorist outfits in the world.

The military chiefs and experts in many countries are in the process of studying on how terrorism is being wiped out by the Security Forces in Sri Lanka.
