Manchester United

The world's richest football club

'Manchester United' is the richest and most famous football club in the world.

Manchester United Football Club is based in Manchester city, North west England very close to the famous Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

Manchester United founded in 1878 as Newton Heath was renamed as Manchester United in 1902, Clinched the League Championship in 1908 and FA Cup in 1909 for the first time. Regular club colours are Red, White and Black. (Nickname the Red Devils).

Manchester United was just an ordinary club until Matt Busby arrived in 1945 as the team Manager. He guided Manchester United to victory in the FA Cup, the Club's first international trophy since the 1911 league. In 1952 won the League again. In 1956 Manchester United became the first English Club to play in the European Cup and they reached the semi-finals in 1957 and 1958, won the European Cup in 1968.

Busby Babes

Under Matt Busby's guidance Manchester United nick-named 'Busby Babes' scored a record 103 goals in the 1956-57 Division one tournament, played 42 matches won 28, and drew 8. Sir Matt Busby was born in May 26, 1909 Bellshill, Scotland. He ran Manchester United for two and a half decades (1945-1969) building around the combined genius of Bobby Charlton, George Best and Denis Law. He retired in 1969 after 24 year yeoman service to the club during the time he also guided the team in two FA Cups and five league Championships. He was knighted in 1968 and died in 1994, Sir Matt Busby played football for Liverpool, Manchester City and Scotland.

Manchester United was devastated by the death of 23 players in a plane crash in February 6, 1958. The team was returning from Yugoslavia after the European Cup semi-finals.

The player who had the most appearances and scored the most goals for Manchester United was Bobby Charlton. He played 756 matches for the Club and scored 248 goals during 1956 to 1973. He was also the highest all-time goal scorer for England with 49 goals.

Alex Ferguson another Scottish Manager arrived in 1986, he guided them to the FA Cup (1990, 94, 96, 99), League Cup in 1992, European Cup in 1999, European Cup Winner's Cup in 1991 and World Club Cup in 1999.

Most famous Football star of the Manchester United history is David Beckham who joined the club in 1992, before he got a transfer to Real Madrid.

Manchester United is the richest Football Club in the world, more richer than Real Madrid (Spain), Bayern Munich (Germany), A.C Milan (Italy), and Barcelona (Spain). It is probably the most famous sports club in the world.
