ITU, CTO recommend Sri Lanka for high tech conferences
The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Commonwealth
Telecommunications Organization (CTO) has confirmed Sri Lanka as a
destination to host high tech international conferences.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL)
Director General, Priyantha Kariyapperuma told Daily News Business that
the World Telecommunication Forum was held successfully in Sri Lanka
recently.
The international event was held in association with the ITU and CTO.
They recommended Sri Lanka to host high tech international fora such as
the World Telecommunication Forum.
The forum facilitated with the latest technologies convinced
participants to organize more international conferences in Sri Lanka.
All telco companies in Sri Lanka participated in the event and
contributed heavily for the success of the event. The telco companies
gained high recognition at the event. There was a large number of
foreign participants at the event and according to them the standards of
the local telecommunication industry are on par with European standards.
Our telco companies were regarded as the most sophisticated telco
companies at the event, he said.
"We are happy that all the players in the local telecommunication
industry have pledged to invest heavily on the Next Generation Network
technology to take the industry to new heights," he said.
Sri Lanka is also planning to host the next South Asian
Telecommunication Regulatory Committee in October this year. AS |
