Special bus service in Southern Province

The Southern Province Road Passenger Transport Authority will operate a special bus service in the Southern Province during the New Year season. SPRPTA Chairman Janaka Priyantha Illesinghe told the Daily News the special bus service would be in operation from April 8 to 20 and both SLTB and private buses would ply during this period.

He said that steps had been taken to operate buses on April 11, 12 and 13 in the Ambalangoda, Galle, Matara, Akuressa and Tangalle bus stands. Leave facilities of bus crew attached to the Southern Province Road Passenger Transport Authority had been cancelled from 8 to 12. For people returning to Colombo after the holiday, a special bus service would be operated from April 15 to 20 on the directive of Southern Province Chief Minister Shan Wijayalal de Silva.
