SLMC PC member joins National Congress

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress(SLMC) Provincial Council Member of the Eastern Province, Dr. Ameerdeen has crossed over to the National Congress (NC) led by Water Supply and Drainage Minister A.L.M. Ataulla yesterday. Giving reasons for his cross over to the NC, Dr. Ameerdeen said that the SL MC and its leadership did nothing for the Muslims as well as the country.

"The NC led by Minister Ataulla has a clear political vision. Therefore I have decided to join the NC and give my fullest support to his leadership," Dr. Ameerdeen said. He added that he is also ready to resign from his present position as a Provincial Councilor if any case filed by the party against him.

Several senior members of the SLMC are also planing to cross over to NC following the lead given by Dr. Ameerdeen , sources revealed.
